Akron, OH March 20, 2025 – Spins Bowl is proud to celebrate the incredible achievements of Scott Miller, who is set to compete in the World Axe Throwing Championship (WATC) for the fourth time. Scott, a dedicated competitor and the Facilities Manager/Head Mechanic at Spins Bowl, will be representing the brand in multiple divisions this year, further solidifying his status as a leader in the axe-throwing community.
Scott’s journey into the sport began in 2020, when Spins Bowl introduced axe throwing at its venues. “I was drawn to the sport because of how welcoming the community is—it’s like everyone is family,” Scott shared. Since then, he has not only honed his skills as a competitor but also taken on a leadership role in major tournaments.
This year, Scott will compete in Hatchet, Hatchet Duals, Knives, and Knives Duals—a testament to his versatility and commitment to the sport. But his contributions go beyond competition; as the “Pit Boss” for all major World Axe Throwing League (WATL) tournaments, Scott is responsible for building and managing 42 individual targets across 20 lanes, including the finals arena. His efforts, along with a small team of volunteers, ensure that the championship runs smoothly.

Scott’s dedication to axe throwing extends beyond competition and event management. His involvement has helped expand Spins Bowl’s entertainment offerings, attracting corporate events and group parties looking for a unique experience. “A lot of parties added axe throwing this year, giving guests another fun activity besides bowling,” he said.
Despite his packed schedule, Scott commits about eight hours per week to practice. When asked what advice he would give to aspiring throwers, he emphasized the importance of getting the right equipment and joining a league. “You may not feel like you’re good enough, but you’ll have a great time. Almost anyone will share their knowledge and help you improve.”
Looking ahead, Scott hopes to compete in additional tournaments, but balancing work and travel remains a challenge. “There are several events I’d like to attend, but they require multiple days off for travel and competition. It all depends on our work schedule,” he explained.
Spins Bowl is thrilled to sponsor Scott at the WATC and support his continued success. His contributions—both on and off the lanes—showcase the dedication and passion that define the axe-throwing community.
Best of luck, Scott! We can’t wait to see you in action at the championship!
